Scripture describes the “Church” as followers of Jesus who gather to use their gifts and talents to serve one another and to serve the needs in their community and beyond. At Solid Rock, we would love to see 100% of the regular attendees make some form of service commitment. We have compiled the following list of teams and opportunities for you to consider as we develop the ministries of Solid Rock.
1. Children’s Team—Current Team Leader: Pam Smallwood
•Description: Assist with nursery care and ministry to children.
•Giftings: Love of children, helps, care-giving, teaching,, service.
Immediate Need:
2-3 nursery workers to volunteer one time a month in the nursery.
2. Hospitality Team—Current Team Leader: Sheri Phillips
•Description: Assist with preparing the snacks and drinks on Sundays , Common Meal, clean up.
•Giftings: Service, hospitality, helps.
Immediate Need:
1-3 workers to assist in picking up the food, preparing, and serving Common Meal.
3. Multimedia-Tech Team—Current Team Leaders: Marty Phillips (sound); Daine Bean (computer)
•Description: Assist with sound, video, presentation graphics, Easy Worship program.
•Giftings: Technology, creative arts, helps, service.
3-4 computer/sound people.
4. Worship Arts Team—Current Team Leader: Open
•Description: Assist with music, singing, building atmospherics, service planning, arts, worship.
•Giftings: Creative arts, music, instruments, vocals, design, artistic abilities.
Immediate Need: Worship Team Leader; instrumentalists, vocalists.
5. Community Service Team—Current Team Leader: Open
•Description: Assists in developing relationships with surrounding community organizations and connecting Solid Rock to service opportunities.
Giftings: Administration, service, mercy, communication.
Immediate Need: 1-2 People to serve as resource and liaisons to Midtown organizations.
6. Website/Facebook Team—Current Team Leaders: Open
•Description: Update and maintain website and Facebook pages; send out email notices for upcoming events.
•Giftings: Technology, creative arts, helps, service, organization.
Immediate Need: 1-3 people to coordinate web presence.
7. Chi Alpha Dinner Team—Current Team Leaders: Sheri Phillips, Diane Fulks, Ocki Haas
•Description: Assist with preparing, serving, and cleaning up monthly meal for Chi Alpha International Students.
•Giftings: Cooking, service, hospitality, organization.
Immediate Need: Team Leader and 4-5 people to prepare, serve and clean up monthly meal.
8. Grounds and Facility Team—Current Team Leader: Steve Smallwood
•Description: Assists with the cleaning, maintenance, mowing, snow removal, room set-up and tear-down, etc.
Giftings: Service, helps, craftsmanship.
Immediate Need: 1-2 People to serve as resource and liaisons to Midtown organizations.
9. Small Groups Team—Current Team Leaders: Open
•Description: Assists with the development of home groups for the purpose of relationship building, discipleship, and service.
•Giftings: Administration, care giving, hospitality, teaching.
Immediate Need: Team Leader; 3-4 small group leaders and host homes for weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
10. Service Programming Team—Current Team Leader: Steve Smallwood
•Description: Assist with the design of weekly worship experiences including, music, liturgy, teaching, experiential components.
•Giftings: Music, teaching, administration, arts, helps.
Immediate Need: 3-4 people to serve on team; requires weekly meeting.
11. Management Team—Current Team Leader: Steve Smallwood
•Description: Oversee the budget, facilities, benevolence, missions and eldership issues of the church
Giftings: Wisdom, administration, finances..
Immediate Need: 1-2 People to join existing team.
12. Offering and Attendance Counters—Current Team Leader: Open
•Description: Safeguard and count offering, prepare deposit, record attendance.
•Giftings: Helps, administration, finance.
Immediate Need: 2-3 people to count offering and record attendance weekly.
13. Teaching/Discipleship Team—Current Team Leader: Steve Smallwood
•Description: Assists with design of message series, and Christian Education.
•Giftings: Administration, helps, creative arts.
Immediate Need: 4-5 people to serve as presenters and teachers.
14. Greeter/Follow-Up Team—Current Team Leader: Open
Description: Organize greeters and individuals to follow-up with guests.
Giftings: Hospitality, helps, administration.
Immediate Need: Team Leader and 1-3 team members.
15. Prayer Team—Current Team Leader: Diane Fulks
Description: Compile prayer needs and communicate prayer concerns to community..
Giftings: Intercession, mercy, administration.
Immediate Need: 1-3 team members.
